Our licensed wildlife rehabilitation team is professionally trained. They come from all walks of life and volunteer their time and talents
to help save wildlife in northeast Kansas. As you can see -
they get into some interesting situations! This rehabilitator saw
an injured eagle fall off a cliff into the river below. He jumped in after
it and saved it's life. The 2024-2025 ARC Wild team includes:
- Sherri McNary of Sabetha, since 2009
- Wendell Ganstrom of Robinson since 2019
- Connie King of Wetmore since 2020
- Daniela Rippe of Sabetha since 2021
- Trina Earl of Bendena since 2023
- Cheyenne Colburn of White Cloud since 2024
ARC Wild works with many local organizations to provide service including game wardens, veterinarians, police, fire departments and the public in Brown, Nemaha, Atchison, Jackson, Doniphan and Marshall
and Washington counties in Kansas. We also man a hotline that answers calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year. We return every single phone call and we do not charge for our services or discriminate by species. For those who are outside of our coverage area, ARC Wild goes out of it's way to ensure they get the help needed quickly.
Interested in joining the team? It takes a village to save wildlife and educate the public in rural northeast Kansas. Here are ways you can help:
- Become a transporter. Pick up and deliver wildlife to licensed wildlife rehabilitators. (To become a certified wildlife rehabilitator with ARC Wild, you must volunteer for a minimum of 1 year as a transporter or educator).
- Make a monetary donation. 100% of our team members and educators are volunteers. Every penny of your donation stays in the northeast Kansas communities.
- Donate your skills for ongoing construction projects. We are always building something and always need help helping hands.
- Donate animal enrichment items (or if you're crafty, make them! We'll teach you how.) It takes a lot of activities to keep our wildlife ambassadors happy. If bored, they resort to ripping out carpet and digging holes to China!
- Volunteer to care for animal ambassadors. Love animals? It takes countless hours to care for, socialize and clean up after our our ARC Wild ambassadors.
- Donate unused construction material, bedding, towels, perfume and more! We use lots of weird items!
- Purchase an item from our wishlists Amazon or Chewy.
- Send a thank you card or note of encouragement to a rehabilitator that helped you out! Nature is cruel and sometimes our job is hard on the heart. Encouragement at random moments is always appreciated. Simply address the envelope to ARC Wild c/o (rehabbers name) and we'll get it to them.
