ARC Wild works with area game wardens, veterinarians, police departments and the public in Brown, Nemaha, Atchison, Jackson, Doniphan and Marshall
and Washington counties in Kansas. Sorry. We do not rescue unwanted domestic pets. Please contact your local animal shelter or city office.
Interested in joining the team? It takes a village to save wildlife and educate the public in rural northeast Kansas. Here are ways you can help:
- Become a transporter. Pick up and deliver wildlife to licensed wildlife rehabilitators. (To become a certified wildlife rehabilitator with ARC Wild, you must volunteer for a minimum of 6 months as a transporter).
- Make a monetary donation. None of our team members or educators receive a wage for their efforts. Your donation stays in the community.
- Donate your skills for ongoing construction projects. We currently need help building fences and finishing an aviary. We'll supply the materials if you can supply the muscle!
- Donate animal enrichment items (or if you're crafty, make them! We'll teach you how.) It takes a lot of activities to keep our wildlife ambassadors happy. If bored, they resort to ripping out carpet and digging holes to China!
- Volunteer to care for animal ambassadors. Love animals? It takes countless hours to care for, socialize and clean up after our our ARC Wild ambassadors.
- Donate unused construction material, bedding, towels, perfume and more! We use lots of weird items!
- Purchase an item from our wishlists Amazon or Chewy.
- Send a thank you card or note of encouragement to a rehabilitator that helped you out! Nature is cruel and sometimes our job is hard on the heart. Encouragement at random moments are always appreciated. Simply address the envelope to ARC Wild c/o (rehabbers name) and we'll get it to them.
